Hotel Le Sirenuse

Located on the Amalfi Coast, Le Sirenuse is comprised of a collection of houses acquired by the Sersale family since the hotel opened in 1951. Recognized as one of the premier properties in Europe, the hotel is now managed by the second generation of the Sersale family. Antiques have been used throughout the hotel. While most rooms have sea view and private balconies and many also have jacuzzi tubs, there are no two rooms alike. The poolside terrace offers a beautiful panoramic view of the city and the Mediterranean Sea. In addition to the pool, facilities include an excellent restaurant (dinner is served entirely by candlelight), a bar, a fully equipped fitness center, and a number of comfortable lounge areas. The hotel's spa was designed by the world famous architect Gae Aulenti. During summer, the hotel now offers a romantic champagne bar situated on a terrace above the dining room. The big plus of this hotel is that it is in the center of Positano, just steps from the town with its myriad clothing and ceramic shops, cafes and restaurants. The black sand beach is reached by an elevator in the center of the town. The hotel keeps a powerboat, used for excursions with hotel guests.

NOTE: JDB does NOT recommend standard category rooms. Standard rooms have NO VIEW and NO BALCONY. Children 8 years old or less are not allowed in hotel from May to September, and in the hotel's restaurant in March, April, October and November.There are very few connecting rooms; however, the hotel has a two-bedroom suite. Restaurant closed from Dec. 1 to Feb. 28 annually. Breakfast in room only.
